About Us
Cornell Growth Capital is a student-run investment organization at Cornell University. Founded in 2026, the club brings together students from every school and major who want to understand how markets work. Our purpose is two-fold: to develop disciplined, research-driven investors, and to build a community of students who share a passion for investing.
What We Do
Investor Training Program
Our introductory course covers accounting, valuation, and financial markets from the ground up. No prior experience is required. See the Recruitment page for more information.
General Body Meetings
Regular meetings feature member stock pitches, discussions of what is moving markets, and guest speakers from across the industry. All members are welcome.
Investment Process
Our investment process is designed to promote rigorous research, collaborative debate, and disciplined decision-making.
Idea generation: Analysts identify potential opportunities and share early findings with the Investment Committee for feedback and refinement.
Full pitch: The team completes deep fundamental research and pitches the idea at a general body meeting. After discussion and questioning, the Investment Committee votes on whether to add the position to the portfolio.
Portfolio tracking: Approved ideas are monitored for performance, thesis validation, and risk. Analysts provide updates and recommend changes as new information emerges.
Analyst Program
The Analyst Program builds on the Investor Training Program and gives analysts deeper technical skills and hands-on investing experience.
Lesson 1: Investment Philosophy · Lesson 2: Accounting & Modeling · Lesson 3: Business Quality · Lesson 4: Valuation · Lesson 5: How to Pitch · Lesson 6: Recruiting
Throughout the program, each analyst researches a company with a mentor, writes a full investment memo, and builds a three-statement model.
Recruiting Prep
We help members prepare for internship and full-time recruiting in investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, and asset management through technical interview practice, resume reviews, and conversations with students who have been through the process.
